European Commision calling for eBook Standard Format
A European commission is calling for eBooks to have standard format to allow reading of eBooks across multiple devices. One of the major issues with eBooks is the lack a standard format preventing the reading of eBooks on all Readers.

Saving the books of the world
I just found an interesting article about Brewster Kahle, the founder of the Internet Archive which aims to preserve every web page ever made. Apparently Kahle has now set his eyes on preserving books as well. So far he has manged to gather over 500, 000 books.
